At a time like this decisive action by those in higher authority is highly desirable to checkmate the excesses of those who are power drunk and think they can do and undo not minding the negative consequences of their actions on innocent citizens.
We, as patriotic and peace loving citizens of Plateau State thank the Nigeria Police under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, and his Commissioner of Police in the state for their decisive and timely action. Surely by their action, they saved many lives and properties of innocent citizens which the crisis merchants were aiming at. Their attack on the Jos South local government secretariat was a prelude of their evil intentions as the innocent elected Chairmen and his councillors were not only molested , but the sanctity of their offices desecrated and government properties looted without let or hindrance.
We reaffirm our solidifying support, solidarity and total confidence of the Nigeria Police under the leadership of the impartial Inspector General of Police. We call on Mr President Asuwaju Ahmed Bola Timubu to note the gallant action of the Nigeria Police in curtailing and preventing potential breach of the peace in Plateau state by taking proactive measures.

ECWA President Rev.Stephe Baba Panya has Felicitates with Christendom, and Nigerians World wide on the occasion of celebration of June12 to mark “Democracy Day”.
The President of ECWA greetings all in the precious name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ to the entire Christendom and Nigerians at large on this memorable democracy day in the history of our dear nation Nigeria.
The President of ECWA felicitation is contained in a press statement dated 12th June 2023 , personally signed by him and made available to this medium in Jos, Plateau State.
The statement which reads in part said today is indeed special since it is the first in the history of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, all elected and newly sworn in governors and many national and state assembly members across Nigeria.
And further said Democracy is defined as the government of the people, by the people and for the people, hence anything short of meeting the needs and aspirations of the people who actually installed such democratic leaders would be considered a total failure.
Stressed that having taken over the spaces of governance in Nigeria, this administration must do everything possible to ensure that Nigerians are given nothing less than the best.I am sure the President knows very well that the citizens of Nigeria today are not smiling due to overwhelming pangs of death emanating especially from insecurities, massive destruction of a good number of communities, kidnapping, hunger, and general lack, to mention but a few.
“Corruption has become the order of the day in both high and low places. Our economy needs total overhauling as means of livelihood has since disappeared from most quarters.”
“Nigerians are eagerly awaiting early fulfillment of numerous promises that all presently in authority made during their political campaigns just a few months ago. “
He therefore, call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do everything possible to carry every one along.
Add that Leaders at all levels must put behind them any sentiment and focus on meeting the needs of Nigerians irrespective of political affiliations, ethnic, religious and other differences.
However appealed to Mr. President to be bold and right all the wrongs perpetrated by the immediate past administration in terms of appointments of Ministers, Service Chiefs and other Heads of Parastatals. Nigerians of all ethnic and religious inclinations must be carried along.
He further said this Democracy Day that Nigerians are celebrating is the day of having our own government, but many citizens do not know if truly the government is theirs. This is because their immediate future seems to have been taken over by outrageously wicked killers who have cut short their aspirations. Nigerians are calling on the President to do everything possible to return the smiles of the captives once again.
“Our celebration can only be complete when those in captivity are set free, and those who are seemingly safe are truly safe. The church is praying that this administration will do all within its power to bring back the remaining 97 Chibok school girls, our beloved Leah Sharibu, Alice Loksha Ngaddah, Grace Lukas, Lilian Daniel Gyang and all others still in captivity.I hereby call on the entire Christendom to be law abiding, peaceful and true ambassadors of Jesus Christ in your spheres of influence and be sure to promote peaceful coexistence with all Nigerians.”
As we work for justice, peace and equity in the polity and governance of this country, let us pray for and find deeper solace in the imminent coming of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. We know then would people of all races and nationalities be truly and totally free, from what has brought us all down to this sad fallen low state – Sin!
For He whom the Son sets free is free indeed! (John 8:36). Let continue to pray and eagerly wait for the time that soon; “The government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
” Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” Maranatha, Christ Jesus is coming back soon!!! Once again, I wish all Nigerians a happy and peaceful Democracy Day celebration.”
It was a sad moment for the family members, relatives and friends of Brigadier General Patrick Ayuba Miri retired when his remain was committed to mother earth on 10 June 2023 in his hometown Langtang North local government area of Plateau state.
Reading the funeral oration of the senior officer, the representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Brigadier General Suleiman Adamu described the senior officer as a gallant professional soldier, brilliant, patriotic, hardworking and trustworthy gentleman who has dedicated most of his lifetime to serve the nation. He noted that, the death of General Miri is a great loss to the family, friends, the country and indeed the Nigerian Army.
Delivering their summons, the officiating ministers, Lieutenant Colonel (Rev) A Usman and Rev Nankap B Fazing noted that, death is inevitable which all humans must pass through. They reminded the congregation that the reward for holy living is eternal life as those who sleep in Christ are resting. Taking their readings of the holy scripture from John 11 : 25 – 26 and Romans 8 : 35 – 38, the clergymen noted that the foundation of Christianity is the belief in resurrection unto paradise for those who lives a holy life.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the spouse to the deceased, friends, his senior and mates in the military described late Miri as a worth friend, team player and caring husband, father and friend.
Brigadier General Parick Miri is a member of Regular Combatant Course 33 of the Prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy.
Berom Youths in plateau state North Central Nigeria has decried the killings of not fewer than Twenty One persons following the invasions of Communities and villages of Riyom and Barkin Ladi LGAs,many injured and over 40 houses razed down shortly after Sunday Service by fulani militias and their cohorts on Sunday, 11th June, 2023.
The attack of was contained in a press Statement dated 12th June 2023 signed by BYM National Publicity Secretary Rwang Tengwong and made available to this medium in Jos.
According to the statement,Places attacked include Rim, Jol, Kwi and Tashek of Riyom LGA as well as Gana-Ropp Community in Barkin Ladi LGA.
According to information gathered, two (2) persons were killed in Rim Community, six (6) in Jol, Eleven (11) in Kwi while a Clegy, Rev. Nichodemus Kim and son were killed in Gana-Ropp Barkin Ladi LGA.
The shocking fact about the attacks on Rim, Jol and Kwi as well as Tashek were simultaneously carried out by over Two Thousand armed Militias who hailed from Fass, Guava, Rankum (Mahanga) and Bangai of Riyom LGA between the hours of 2pm and 8:00pm.
The sophistry of their weapons incomparably overpowered the Vigilante in Kwi, thereby resulting to the complete burnt done of Hei-gwe village and over a hundred farmlands destroyed.
It is with great concern that these Communities especially, Rim, Jol and Kwi have come under several attacks in the last two weeks. Perplexingly, Sunday’s attack went on for hours, overstretching the inadequate personnel of Sector 6 of Operation Safe Haven-OPSH in their rapid response.
More worrisome is the fact that Mahanga and Fass which are the base of those terrorising these Communities are known, yet, no drastic measures have been made by the appropriate authorities concerned to deradicalize the yet-to-be declared terrorist enclaves.
This has left us with concerns and questions as to whether or not Federal Security can nip the ongoing genocide in the bud since that is Government primary responsibility of safeguarding lives and property.
The BYM under the leadership of Solomon Dalyop Mwantiri, Esq. hereby condemns the coordinated attacks and other forms of provocation meted out on innocent persons of Plateau since after the 2023 General Elections.
We therefore call on the new administration both at Federal and State levels to, as a matter of urgency, rise up to the occasion with new strategies to address the security situation in the country and particularly, Plateau State so as to forestall further degenerative tendencies of the said Fulani militias that have heavily infiltrated the State and its environs.
Security personnel must also wake up to their statutory responsibility to safeguard lives and property.
The BYM equally call on the Berom nation to remain calm and law abiding in all these, but must explore every avenue to defend our Communities as we cannot sit and watch while being killed one after another.
Today marks yet another milestons in our Democratic journey as a nation, as we celebrate June 12 Democracy Day for year 2023. A day we believe, is set aside for us to reflect on our past with the view to building a better Nigeria of our dreams.
In doing this, we should consolidate on the personal sacrifices made by our past and present heroes towards building vibrant democratic processes and structures, especially in our current dispensation, in order to be on the progressive democratic map of the world.
To achieve this, we must strive to renew our vows toward the enthronement of these democratic processes by working assiduously towards bequeathing lasting legacies for the benefits of the Nation’s future generations.
In order words, our actions and conducts as leaders, should be deeply rooted in the Nigeria project, built on unity, peace and development, through the protections of lives and property; and provisions of the basic needs of our people in the various communities.
This is the only way to make our founding fathers feel happy and fulfilled that their efforts were not in vain.
In this regard, we want to inform that the QP Project of Endless Possibilities Administration in Qua’an-Pan Local Government, under my leadership, have taken the bold initiative of not only ensuring the unity and peaceful coexistence of the citizens, but have gone ahead to provide dividends of democracy to many communities.
Thus, we intervened and provided amenities and succor in the areas of security, health, education, agriculture, skills acquisition, roads, social services, among others, spread across the LGA.
As we celebrate this year’s June 12 Democracy Day, we want to assure the peace loving people of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area of our determination to continue to better their lots with the provisions of more Dividends of Democracy.
Finally, on behalf of the people of Qua’an-Pan Local Government, I felicitate with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the Vice-President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON; the leadership and distinguished members of the National Assembly;
the Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, his Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, the Speaker and Honourable members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, the Chief Judge of Plateau State and members of the Judiciary as well as all Nigerians on the celebration of the 2023 Democracy Day (June 12).
Member Representing Jos North-North in the Plateau State House of Assembly Honorable Ibrahim Baba Hassan has appreciated friends and associates for standing by him both thick and thin throughout the years he held sway as member representing his Constituency in the house.
The member who have been in the house for 16 years said as human he most had err in one way or the other in the course of carrying out his Constitutional legislative duty which may not be intentional, but asked for forgiveness.
Baba Hassan stated this during the guarding of his friends and associates organized at his instance at his resident in jos to appreciate God almighty for sparing his life for successful stewardship and commitment to service delivery throughout his lawmaking in the state house of Assembly for the years under review.
He said ,he has entered into covenant contract with the peace loving citizens of the state in the last 16 years to legislate on issues that touched the lives of the common citizens also to support democratic journey .
He said in the process of his legislative sojourned, he did his possible best to legislate on critical bills which has direct impact on the people of my Constituency,by extension citizens of plateau in general.
However plead with those he may had feel offended by his actions ovally or otherwise to have soft place in their heart to forgive me because it may not be intentional as it is very difficult to satisfy everybody.
You would recalled that , Ibrahim Baba-Hassan was elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and became the Deputy Speaker before he defected to All Progressive Congress, APC ,and also commended Journalists in the state for credible reportage and constructive criticism.
Mr Baba-Hassan, called on the citizens of Plateau and Nigeria as a whole to support the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as it has positive plans towards revamping the moribund industries in Nigeria.
“Considering the way and manner he is currently handling the agitation occasioned by the removal of oil subsidy by Mr President is a step worth of commendation and a pointer that he needs the support of all Nigerian to get the country back on working track”.
Hon.Baba-Hassan admonished his media associate and friends to forget and forgive him if he has mistakenly did something that hurt their feelings in discharging his function as a legislator ,adding my 16 years would come an end on June 12 and that gave him opportunity to face business squarely .
Further said the meeting with the forth estate of the realm, is to have a hand shake with them and Commend them for their positive criticism as member of the house which had strengthened and make him more focus all these years.
Baba Hassan also extended his apologies to the state assembly members ,citizens of the country whether he has committed blunder while carrying out his constitutional function as the law maker.
Baba Hassan who contested the Jos North /Bassa Federal Federal Constituency, and loss to Hon .Musa Avia Agah stressed that it’s time to step aside from politics and face his business that has suffered for over 16 years when he was in active politics.
He reiterated his still active in politics ready to serve in any capacity especially at federal level when the duty call.
The current face of between plateau house of Assembly , Mutfwang and local government Chairmen in the state are the handling work of those desperate politicians in PDP looking for positions that are not in existence in the party, they have to create artificial crisis for any position to come up if it means using Illegal means.
I most warn and adviced those behind it have rethink and follow the part of honor to had I known and avoid learning in a hard way.
Honorable Ibrahim Baba Hassan member Representing Jos North-North in the Plateau State House of Assembly revealed this in an interview with journalists in the current crisis between the 17 LG’s over their suspension from office by state government Caleb Mutfwang.
Baba Hassan who is the lowest serving member of the house spending 16 years said said all the crisis in over the suspension of democratically elected Chairmen of the 17 local government Chairmen in the state is all a decoy by those seeking for positions in the party ,and is not there they just have to create one.
I expected this to happen because the expectation of majority of people in the party is very high after 8 years outside the power, when the power eventually come their way after so long time, you did not expect less.Hassan said what happened is that I was the first person that wrote the first letter to the Chairmen of the local government of the state to summit documents furnished the house of their income and expenditure.
“I have the Constitutional right as the Chairman committee for local government and Chieftaincy affairs in the state house of Assembly.”
“What is happening now is just politics . To bring politics into governance is a very dangerous omen”.
There is no law that gives the house of Assembly and the governor of the state power to suspend an elected Chairmen and Counselors of local government from office.
What we are saying, is that suppose that the 17 Local Government Chairmen are find wanting , what then happened to the counselors?
Whatever you do will definitely come back to you.
Today Mutfwang is the governor of plateau state, either by error or omission.
“When you look at the entire PDP on the plateau, the state is too small for them.”
“Some of them want appointments, and needed to create space hence that is why they are creating political crisis to create political position for them to fill.”
Governor Caleb Mutfwang, for being a lawyer for over 30 years, he should know that there is no such power in the Constitution which empower him to suspend elected Local Government Chairmen unilaterally.
Just for instance, the federal house Representatives or the Senate as the case may be , said they have suspend Governor Caleb Mutfwang?
What is going to be his reaction.
What l am saying that if this conitued , is going to amount to Political suicide.
I advice the governor to recsede his decision and reverse to Status quo for peaceful resolution and the interest of the state.

As we were preparing to reply and make available to them the documents they requested, the next communication is a letter of suspension ,all this happened just within one week.

As against this background, we the 17 Local Government Chairmen and legislative arms are saying no to this barbaric and unthinking ,we wrote through our respective Directors of Personnel Management (DPM) without any invitations extended to us.
