Post Governship/House Assembly Election, Letter Of Admonition To LP Faithful.

By,Shabul Mazadu.

The Governship/House Assembly election most have come and gone, but one thing that will ever remain in the mind of average plateau person is the glamour and the tension, heat generated in cause of campaign by the three major political parties in the state PDP, APC and LP all to garner vote for their respective political parties.

One person that was behind  this healthy Political tension that will ever be cited as political reference in the history of the state is Comrade Shabul Mazadu, Media Consultant to Labour Party in the state and the publisher of Beacon newspaper.

He however admonlished  labour party faithful that the election most have come and gone, but they should not loose focus and remain resolute because  LP has put up a good fight ,as he give APC, the ruling Party and People Democratic party ,the largest opposition Party in the state, and by extension Nigeria a run for their money.

Writing his well anticulated letter titled  “To Plateau Labour Party Faithful” ,he said,we fought like lions because we are at heart.

Never see yourself as a goat at the ongoing provocations from different quarters while results are being collated.

Never have self pity, nor be disappointed, nor be shy. We fought a good fight against established political parties with enormous resources so much that the PDP had to go into forgery of letters and used their radio and television stations at the last hour saying we have stepped down for them. This should be our pride as men and walk with our shoulders high.

Not everyone can disregard the enticement and seduction of money for the right course, but we did it and we should be proud of ourselves.

Our efforts were patriotically, ethically and morally justified, thus; having a super free and clear conscience. Let’s celebrate ourselves and be strong.

Let this spirit be in you now and always, that you can face mountains with a hammer when it comes to standing up for the right cause. We’ve made the right and best choice of Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum as the governorship candidate of our dear and amiable state, and sacrifices too, which if put in place, Plateau would be the best.

I therefore call on all of you, should the results disfavour us, don’t feel bad, cause what’s done is done. Our aim was to make Plateau better, but we can still do that in our little ways by always praying, supporting and extending our hands of help to our fellows.

The struggle to make Plateau better in all ways should be our watchword continuously.

Cheer up, be strong and of good courage. 👍👍👍

Plateau Guber : Action Alliance Party Disclaims Yibalkos Adam As Governship Candidate, Collapsed Structure To APC.

By,giwa alex, Jos

Few hours into the governorship elections in Nigeria, slated for 18th March, 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Action Alliance (AA) a registered political party in Nigeria has disclaimed one Chief Yibalkos Amos Adam, as its governorship candidate for the governorship election in Plateau state.

Rather, the party has declared and firmed that, Dr. Simput Eagles Dafup ll, as its governorship candidate for Plateau State.

It has also called on INEC to disregard and discountenance the name of Chief Yibalkos Amos Adam in their records as he has decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

You would recall that, the Tribune Online of 15th March, 2023, had reported that, the ADP, NNPP, AA have collapsed their structures in Plateau State and have teamed up with APC.

“Ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections, three political parties, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), the Action Alliance (AA), and the African Democratic Party (ADP) in Plateau State, along with a later gubernatorial candidate, have dissolved their structures into the APC”. The online Newspaper had reported.

In the National Chairman’s statement signed on his behave by the National Secretary of the party, Amb. (Barr) Suleiman Abubakar and made available to REALITY, the National Chairman, while disclaiming Chief Yibalkos Amos Adam as its governorship candidate in Plateau and one Bigwan Jatau (Esq) as a candidate in Plateau State, stated that, “The authentic and legitimate governorship candidate for the Action Alliance (AA) in the 2023 Plateau State governorship election is Dr. Simput Eagles Dafup ll”.

PDP Disclaim Purported Letter Of LP Governship Candidate Resignation, urges Supporters To Remain Focus.

By,giwa alex, Jos

The People Democratic Party (PDP) in plateau state has disclaimed the letter that has gone viral on the  Social media that the Governship Candidate of the labour Party (LP),has resigned following a concrete agreement reached by the two Parties PDP and LP.

The party disclaimer is contained in a statement dated 17th March 2023 , signed by the Director

Directorate of Media and Publicity

Atiku-Okowa/Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council  Pastor Yiljap Abrahim and made available to this medium in Jos.

The statement said it is imperative to put it on record that while discussions are ongoing, a letter of resignation purportedly signed by the candidate of the Labour Party,  Dr. Patrick Dakum is circulating in the social media to that effect.

Stressed that the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State Barr Caleb Mutfwang appreciates the efforts made of recent by concerned individuals and groups to bring the Labour Party into a working agreement with the PDP for Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly election.

The statement further state  clearly that he does not approve of such underhanded tactics that have been employed to create and circulate information alluding  to the contrary on the social media.

However said any information regarding his stance and other matters will be released through the usual official channel.

Barr Mutfwang however called on party faithful to remain alert and stay focused on carrying out their duty to vote and safeguard their votes in Saturday’s election.

Labour Party Distance Self From PDP Forged,And Fictitious Letters.

By, giwa alex, Jos

The labour Party in plateau state had decried the level of desperation  people’s Democratic Party PDP has allowed itself to be politically use.

As the National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP, Barrister Julius Abure and the Plateau State Governorship candidate, Dr. Patrick Dakum, have distanced themselves from the deceptive and forged letters being circulated by the desperate Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, e-boys and rumour peddlers all round the state alleging support and stepping down for the incompetent and uncertained governorship candidate of their party.

This is contained in a statement dated 17th March,2023 signed by the Media Consultant/DG Internal Relations

Consolidation for Greater Plateau 2023 ,Shabul Mazadu and made available to this medium in Jos.

All LP faithful and the general public should disregard such baseless and concocted lies from the already exited PDP from the contest.

The LP is not ignorant of the fact that the PDP is on a wild goose chase which its juggernauts are fully aware by virtue of the already existing  courts’ judgment with deadly missiles waiting for it at the tribunal and others to quash all their victories at the National Assembly elections.

Due to their penchant for bad governance and total disregard for the peace, unity and progress of Plateau, state they resorted into working for the All Progressives Congress, APC, surreptitiously by peddling heinous lies and criminality through forgery of letter headed paper and signature of the LP National  Chairman endorsing Caleb Mutfwang of the PDP. This they do, so that if the electorates who are wiser than they could eventually fall into their trap, their votes will be wasted and the APC will gain grounds.

The PDP has finally proven itself as a mole, protégé and stooge of the APC, and also its hand in hand for the retrogression of Plateau State.

The LP knows that the PDP is also playing to the gallery as its only waiting for its jab of the Zamfara experience in 2019 at 2023 election petition tribunal.

We are therefore calling on the general public to disregard all forms of write-ups and lies coming from the PDP that the LP is supporting its candidate, Mutfwang. There is no such thing, and there will never be.

The PDP is only on a treachery odyssey while on somnambulism and day dreaming.

It is totally impossible for the LP which is out for competence to recant its stance and opt for charade at the governorship polls by supporting a vacuum and a party waiting for the axe of nullification after the elections.

THE FEAR OF DR. PATRICK DAKUM, IS THE BEGINNING OF THE APC’S AND PDP’S DEFEAT.

The First Law of Motion states, “To every action, there is equal and opposite reaction.”  The calumny, lies and forgery perpetrated against Dr. Dakum is a sign of defeat on the side of the PDP and the APC. Chief Obafemi Awolowo said, “But it is mean and cowardly and an evidence of weakness and other demerit for any group of people to attempt, to comment themselves to the public by the negative of belittling and condemning others. Strong, courageous, resourceful and self-confident people are never afraid of rivals or competitors.”

The PDP and APC’s performance in governance has edged them out of favour with the electorates and desperation set in, thus; making them to be weak,  un-resourceful, incompetent and timid.

It is the weak that maligns the mighty.

We therefore call on all our supporters not to take heed to the braying of the marooned and drowning PDP and APC, as victory beckons.

By,giwa alex,Jos

Disregard PDP’s Desperate and Mistleading Press briefing…… LP

By,giwa alex, Jos

The labour Party ( LP) in plateau  state has argued the people of the state to disregard the recent misleading and desperate press briefing organised by the people Democratic party (PDP) in the state.

The labour Party stated this in a press statement issued dated 16th March 2023, signed by the party Consultant/Media Director, lnternal Relation consolidation for Greater Plateau 2023 Shabul Mazadu and made available to this medium.

According to the statement, said It has come to the notice of Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum/Hon. Edward Pwajok SAN KSG  campaign team, Consolidation for Greater Plateau 2023, a concocted misleading press briefing in an attempt to deceive the countless followers and supporters of the Labour Party, LP, and lure them into voting for the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), governorship candidate, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang at the March 18, 2023 governorship poll, led by a group of PDP supporters impersonating Peter Obi’s, the LP presidential candidate.

In the said press briefing led by one Stephen Danladi Wuyep, the group which was not up to 20, claimed that 200 groups of Obi supporters have endorsed Mutfwang for governorship.

First and foremost, if they are truly Peter Obi’s supporters and believe in him, they will not stab him in the back after coming to Jos yesterday, and thanking the state for the votes given to him at the February 25, 2023 Presidential poll and solicited for more support for the LP at the governorship poll.

Obi announced that all his supporters should vote LP top to bottom at the March 18, 2023 polls. His genuine supporters will honour his request.

If the group was truly for Obi, it will not hurt and discourage him at this time that he is already on course fighting to reclaim his stolen mandate. All lovers of Peter Obi know that the best stamina, inspiration and momentum they would grant him on his pursuit of justice is to vote massively for the LP to win the governorship seats.

It’s an open secret that Obi is a movement consisting of genuine and fake supporters across party lines, that was why most PDP and APC members voted for him at the presidential poll, and their parties at the National Assembly polls.

We’ll like the public to know that the group which held the press briefing are PDP members and not LP faithful, and what they did was just the same as party members canvassing support for their candidates.

LP faithful believe in a new Nigeria and new Plateau State, and will in no wise demoralize or backstab Peter Obi at the time he needs support most.

The group falsified everything to make it real as those who attended the press briefing were no closed up to ten posing as leaders of the various volunteer groups for Obi. And have not submitted the names of the 200 hundred leaders of the volunteer groups, names of the groups and their signatures.

No real Obi supporter will claim Mutfwang is better than Dakum other than those who supported him out of mere ethnic or religious sentiments.

Those who sought for leadership capacity in Obi, will surely go with Dr. Dakum knowing how fully capacitated he is above Mutfwang.

DAKUM IS BETTER THAN MUTFWANG IN ALL RAMIFICATIONS SUCH AS:

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE;

When Caleb Mutfwang was in Form 2 in Boys Secondary School in 1979, Dakum already has started tasting the Second Republic politics, and while Mutfwang graduated in 1982, Dakum was getting more exposed at the 1983 political dispensation.

The Fourth Republic ushered in on May 29, 1999 with Dakum as Commissioner of Health and Information under the Joshua Dariye led administration. 14 years after, Mutfwang became Mangu LGA Chairman. By then Dakum has become the CEO of Institute of Human Virology Nigeria.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Dakum as Commissioner of Health, initiated the construction of General Hospitals in Tunkus, Mikang Local Government Area, Kanam Local Government Area and in Angware, Jos East Local Government Area.

As Commissioner of Information, he established the booster station for the Plateau Radio Television Corporation, PRTVC, for a wider reach to Plateau South.

Many equipment were upgraded at the PRTVC and others.

Mutfwang as LG chairman left mine months of unpaid salaries, and mostly governed from Kaduna State where his law firm is.

Dakum has employed 1000 workers at IHVN, where 250 are from Plateau State. Each owns a house and car and with the record of executing projects in their communities.

Dakum heads the United State President Emergency Plan on AIDS Relief, PEPFAR, where over four hundred thousand HIV/AIDS patients are receiving free medical treatment.

He also manages Self-Sustaining Enterprise, an NGO where they dug 200 boreholes for 200 communities, give students scholarship, boost businesses for entrepreneurs, own schools and so many others.

Spiritually wise, Dakum writes COCIN morning devotion books, teaches in Sunday School, established COCIN Church Garki, in Abuja and so on.

Dakum had touched the lives of many homes through his radio Programme, Home Front for almost a decade in the nineties.

During his 60th birthday, he celebrated it by buying relief and building materials for the victims of attacks in Fan, Miango and Daffo.

EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE & SCOPE OF KNOWLEDGE

Dakum has more knowledge of Plateau in terms of challenges, resources, and others by being a member of the state executive council, and has gone round the entire state and attended executive council meetings for years.  Mutfwang only knew Mangu LGA partially as most of his time is spent in Kaduna.

The PDP group should bring out the achievements of Mutfwang that match or superceded Dakum’s for comparison and not looking at the huge size of their principal and claim he is better.

The general public should take note that the PDP is down to earth scared of the LP and its candidate that’s why it embarked on campaign of calumny  saying Dakum has stepped down for Mutfwang.

The calumnious group are not in any way supporters of Obi, but mere imposters and impersonators for cheap political propaganda that the weakest and newest political novices will term crude and outdated.

Disregard such fictitious claims as there is no iota of truth that they are authentic Obidients.

Saturday polls: We’ve Not Endorse Any Candidate, Says PLASCUF

By, giwa alex, Jos

Body under the auspacies of Plateau Southern and Central Unity Forum (PLASCUF), has Thursday, 16th March 2023 said it has not endorsed any particular Governatorial candidate for the Saturday general elections in the state contrary to some insinuations in some  quarters.

The National Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Panshak John Verengkat, made this known in a chat with journalists in Jos.

“The Forum have resolved that since the major candidates for the Governorship election in Plateau State are all members of the Forum, we do not have preferential regards to a particular candidate, and therefore, we are not endorsing anyone amongst them.

“In view of the above we are calling on all sons and daughters of the Southern and Central Plateau State, to wisely vote for a candidate of their choice, who they feel can lead the state towards a better development,” he said.

Mr. Panshak said the decision became necessary for the avoidance of rancour and disunity amongst their members.

The chairman expressed worries that the political gladiators has gone wide, over heating the atmosphere, hence the need for extra cautions.

He call on the people of the zones, residing anywhere in the State to be law abiding and peaceful, before, during and after the elections.

“The elections will come and go, life will continue after the elections, and without peace all things are meaningless,” he admonished.

SDP Borno State Chapter Denies Endorsing APC, Gov. Zullum In Saturday Governship/House Of Assembly Election.

By,giwa alex, Jos

The Borno State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has denied the statement credited to Al Ansar Radio and the state own Radio and Television broadcast separately on Wednesday 15th March ,2023 that the party has collapsed it structure to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state and has endorsed governor Zullum as it sole candidate for 2nd term.

The SDP stakeholders in  state want to state categorically that there is no such move or arrangement between our great party SDP,and the ruling All Progressive Congress APC,in the state as the statement is an infringement of the imagination of the author.

This is contained in a press statement issued by the Chairman of the party Abba Alhaji Modu dated 16th March,2023 and made available to journalists.

The chairman said  the candidates under our party are making frantic efforts to round off their campaign ahead the March 18th Governship/House of Assembly Election, and there is no reason why some Persons will seat down at their comfort zone fabricating liers that we have collapsed our structure.

He further said that the party has set up a committee to investigate any member or members in Involved in the Criminal act with view to face appropriate sanction.

The chairman use the statement to send a sound warning to officers  no matter their position in the party to avoid anti-party because when you are caught, the party will mete the necessary punishment spelt out in the party constitution.

And warned distractors to stay away from any activities concerning Social Democratic party SDP, in the state.

Race To Little Rayfield : Dr. Patrick /Edward For Better governance.

By, giwa alex,Jos

As the race to Plateau State Government House Commence, Dr Patrick Dakum /Edward Pwajok of the labour Party are candidate  to beat considering their political prowess in Plateau politics .

“You  would recalled that on Saturday March 11th ,2023, the quadrennial ritual of electing and reelecting political office holders in Nigeria will be observed throughout the country ,as the Dr Patrick Dakum and his running mate are now ringing bell towards providing solution to the vacuum leadership in Plateau state .

However ,it was gathered that only  few states like Anambra and few other states will not observe this ritual in full due to their staggered governorship election, Plateau state with intense political activities were more evident in the states observing this ritual in full as electorate shall queue across the polling units to vote for credibility of the candidate of their choice.

In Plateau the contest is bearing signs of a tough contest among three candidates who are the foremost contenders for the big win.Dr Patrick Dakum  of the Labour Party, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda of the All Progressives Congress  and Barr. Caleb Mutfwang  of the People’s Democratic Party are fairly equally strong to win the polls.

Besides, the zonig arrangement ,all three are from Central Senatorial District of Plateau state   where the governorship position is zoned in line with the state’s rotation arrangement.

Ordinarily, electing a governor of a state from a senatorial zone will appear to constrict the political space and restrict choices, but the three contestants in particular have varied experiences that will serve the needs of Plateau State  and her people in this trying period ,the verse knowledge and exposure of Dr Patrick Dakum placed him above others strong contestants vying the seat of little rayfield .

However, only one of them has greater chance of a win as well as minded to deliver on good governance. And that is Patrick Dakum  of the Labour Party.  He may not approximate all the qualities of a demon administrator, but he surely has an advantage over his closest rivals. One,  has borne responsibilities to be elected governor to repositioning the dwindling economic of Plateau .

According to records Director General of human virologist to prevent international medical tourism outside the country  , he has held appointive positions that exposed him to the complex workings of the executive as well as the executive .

He was a Commissioner ,q,s f is bringing to bear in governance in Plateau  State is a composite skill honed through exposure to both and appointive positions.

Neither of his two closest rivals has as much experience to trump him in the contest. Patrick Dakum  is enough of a politician, a medical doctor  with mild manners to navigate the fractious politics of Plateau State and deliver good governance.

He is the kind of man you find easy to entrust with the collective aspiration of a people and go to sleep. He is judicious in action and will most likely not provoke distrust through political indiscretion.

To emphasis on  his track record of performance in public office stands him in good stead to perform excellently if elected, his platform, the Labour Party, hitherto “without structure”, puts him in a pole position to win the contest.

The performance of the Labour Party in the heavily flawed election of February 25th, 2023, has changed the perception about the coming elections. The desire of Nigerians, especially her youth population which forms the greater number of the voter audience to have a new country has put parties like the APC and the PDP on edge.

The revolutionary zeal of the Obidient movement which largely propels the Labour Party has shown scant regard for the survival of the other parties where citizens developed cold support for the two dominant party’s .

It was evident in that last election that many candidates got lucky not for any special effort of theirs, but for merely contesting on the Labour Party ticket. And so far as that development goes, nothing has happened to suggest that the next Saturday election will be any different. Rather the failure of the INEC to discharge the responsibility fairly and credibly has compelled greater determination to elect more Labour Party candidates in the coming election.

In Plateau  the zeal to avenge the subversion of the will of the people in the last election is evident in the manner the people are pulling for Labour Party candidates across the country.

The story is not any different in Plateau State where Dr Patrick Dakum emergence as the Labour Party governorship candidate was achieved in almost the same manner as Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate.

Dakum  moved over to Labour Party after losing out in the People’s Democratic Party primaries. However, his candidacy was challenged up to the Appea l  Court by one Amb. Yohanna Yilpwan Margif  who sought to stop him.

In its ruling the Apex Court described Am Margif  as a meddlesome interloper who should not have gone to court in the first place because he lacked the locus standi and was expelled from his ward .Adding ,

“He should not have gone to court in the first place since he didn’t participate in the Labour Party governorship primaries and can’t put something on nothing .”

It is important to state here that since the campaigns, Dr Patrick Dakum  has continued to chalk up good popularity with the people. He has public acceptance which is premised on his previous record of performance as a , Commissioner.

Building on political relevance ,Plateau North senatorial zone Barr.Edward Pwajok ,SAN, has ties with  North Senatorial Zone as  running mate and attorney general for 8-9 years which makes his governorship a balanced package.

It is a governorship in the best position to heal Plateau  State and nip off the springing bud of division about to take root in the state. Plateau’s match to statehood has no greater chance of taking effect under any other governorship but Dakum ,Pwajok.

He has not hidden his distaste for the imaginary divisions orchestrated by few political profiteers just to deepen their perch. Decrying the politics of division in the state he once said:

According this , “We do not speak in zones. We speak of the state as one united constituency in need of transformation, and this we are determined to do”.

There is the belief that he is the preferred candidate in the March 11 polls. But more of this belief is hinged on his ability to push up the frontiers of development to make Plateau  State the frontline state it was and heal her of the divisions caused by self-serving politicians who want to remain at scene perpetually.

It is not expected that anything will blight his chances at the polls. He has worked hard to “ensure there grows no weed of rebellion to choke the flowers of grace”. He will not labour in vain.

Amb.Margif Lauds Peter Obi’s Neutral Position On Plateau Governship Poll

By, giwa alex, Jos

The Embattled Governorship candidate of Labour Party in Plateau State, Ambassador Yohanna Margif has appreciated the presidential candidate of the labour party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi for allowing Plateau people to vote for their preferred Governorship candidate during the Saturday 18th March 2023, Governorship/State House of Assembly election.

Margif who made the appreciation in a press statement on Wednesday 15th March 2023 in Jos ,said Obi appreciated Plateau people for voting massively for him during the Presidential election but declined to dictate to the people who they will vote for in the governorship election.

He noted that Obi refused to endorsed any governorship candidate in Plateau in view of the fact that Plateau people overwhelmingly q

voted him because of the love they had for him and not because of the Labour Party and those vying positions on the party’s ticket.

Margif further said,

“I write to especially thank the Presidential candidate of our great party, Mr. Peter Obi for taking the pains and bold step to come to Plateau to show gratitude over the good gesture the people showed him during the February 25th Presidential election.

“Indeed, the coming of Obi to Plateau at this crucial moment was very important in view of the fact that our people are still not happy over the outcome of the presidential election which was characterized by massive rigging.

“I am also happy because he only spoke with stakeholders of the party at the Yakubu Gowon Airport, and deliberately refused to come to the state capital because of how important the Saturday Governorship election is to Plateau people.

“He is aware that his support during the last election came strongly form the church and wish to allowed the people vote their preferred Governorship candidate without necessarily voting for the Labour Party candidate.”
