Honorable Yusuf Adamu Gagdi Member Representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam(PKK), at the Federal House of Representatives, and Chairman Committee on Navy is currently in the eyes of storm over the way he is manipulating and controlling the Party APC in the state undermining the leadership position of the immediate past Governor, now Minister of Labour and employment Hon. Simon Bako Lalong.
As Gagdi is being accused of dictating and handling the Party affairs like his personal estate without recourse to the Minister of Labour and employment Simon Bako Lalong who is the leader of the All Progressive Congress APC on the plateau.
This accusations and observations is contained in press statement issued by a Forum under the auspices of APC Youths progressive Forum (PYF), plateau state chapter, dated 2nd November 2023 signed by the forum coordinator Rotgak Victor and made available to this medium in jos , plateau State.
According to the statement,
everybody on the Plateau and even those outside the state is aware of the close relationship between former governor Simon Lalong and current Minister of Labour and Employment, and the Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, representing Pankshin/Kanke/kanam federal constituency of the state.
While many see it as mere marriage of convenience, it is however true that Gagdi has been one of the trusted allies of the former governor. Recalled that Gagdi led the group that purchased the APC nomination form that enabled Lalong to contest for senate.

Lalong had always carried Gagdi along in the scheme of things, particularly issues that has to do with the development of Plateau and its people.
This simply means that Lalong holds Gagdi in high esteem and so have always supported him even in his political journey from the being a member of the House of Assembly to House of Representatives.
There is no gainsaying the fact that Lalong is the leader of the APC in the state and so, we will not allow anyone, however highly placed to denigrate the place our revered leader.
Lalong led Plateau as governor for 8 years and ran a faultless government with avalanche of visible infrastructural development that has placed Plateau top among the comity of states in Nigeria.
But the unfolding event where Mr Gagdi is seen to be undermining the place of Lalong as leader of APC in Plateau unacceptable.
We have watched with keen interest, how Gagdi is making efforts to downplay the place of Lalong in an attempt to assume the position of the leader of the party in our state.
Gagdi is using his federal connection to become too overbearing, to the extent that he takes decisions without proper consultation with the leader of the party or even the chairman of APC in the state.
While many party elders and loyalists are lamenting over this development in their closets, we have taken the bold step to speak out because we believe in party hierarchy and Gagdi shouldn’t be allowed to undermine it.
The reason for Gagdi’s overbearing posture is not far fetched; he is claiming that he has invested over N20 billion in the governorship election up to tribunal and the appeal court and vehemently wants to be in charge so that when Nentawe becomes governor, he will recover his money with ease.
Our findings reveal that it is on account of the above that Gagdi has warned Nentawe not to have anything to do with Lalong anymore.
It is consequent upon this that both Nentawe and Gagdi were conspicuously absent at the INEC headquarters in Abuja last week when Lalong was issued a Certificate of Return having been declared the winner of Plateau South Senatorial Election by the Appeal Court.
Recall that the event attracted staunch members and chieftains of our great party from Plateau and beyond except Gagdi and Nentawe.

We also have it on good account that Nentawe doesn’t even pick Lalong’s phone calls or respond to his text messages.
While we appreciate the role of Gagdi in the victory of Nentawe, we want to draw his attention to the fact that Lalong remains the leader of the party in the state and should be respected no matter what.
The forum call on Gagdi not to chew more than he can bite, but trade with caution because the overall interest is to see to the growth of APC on the Plateau.

According to the statement, said it may interest you to know that this year’s commemoration marks the 35th World AIDs Day Celebration and it is an opportunity to reflect on our journey, acknowledge and celebrate the progress we have made and recognise the challenges which community voices series suffered.
The year 2023 commemoration which has it theme “LET COMMUNITIES LEAD”, tends to focus on the need for the proper engagement of communities, because communities serve as a bridge between individual needs and broader societal structures. They are the experts on their own needs and know best how to respond to HIV in their own specific context.

According to Sarah Oughton and Tinashe Madamombe, “this contextual knowledge is essential for ensuring that HIV prevention and care efforts are successful.
By amplifying community voices and empowering communities to take charge, we can create a world where everyone has access to the care and support they need to thrive”.
“Ending AIDS will only be possible when access to HIV services for marginalised communities improves. Our Community Voices series was co-created with LGBT people, sex workers, people with disabilities and others most affected by HIV. Co-creation embeds these, often over-looked community voices in our content to ensure they are heard more widely”, it stated.
Therefore, MAHESD, in collaboration with the Plateau State Ministry of Health, joins the rest of the world in advocating for the effective engagement of communities in the fight against HIV/AIDs by training more Community Mobilizers in Local Government Areas to effectively drive demands in our society.
We however, wants to use this opportunity to commend Plateau State for attaining HIV treatment saturation with over 49,539 people currently on treatment and over 95% of clients virally suppressed, but urged them to work on the gap amongst the Paediatric Sub population and the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT).

We also want to appreciate the National AIDS, STIs Control Programme of the Federal Ministry on Health (NASCP) and Global Fund (GF) for scaling up Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) in all the States of the Federation, sitting over 861 in Plateau State.

Yakubu Dati has remained a serial and cerebral hit man for a deadly vested interest on the Plateau. As it is in the case of all hit men, integrity, morality and conscience usually suffer collateral damage in the course of the activities of the hit man. In fact, a hit man is completely dead to any human sensitivity. Each time Dati comes across with his display of unsettling and disconcerting insensitivity, only individuals who do not know him wonder.
In the write-up under reference, the hatchet jobber, may not have adequately reviewed the changed and fast evolving socio – political environment of the Plateau. He therefore, unwisely got himself entangled in an engagement most intelligent members of his party would really think twice before venturing into.
Plateau people have since May 29, 2023, in gratitude to God, aligned themselves with the new and, positive wind of change blowing across the state and have since moved on. Unfortunately for stagnant brains, who perch on and make a living merchandising falsehood, Dati is yet to come to terms with the basic realities of the moment, in Plateau state. Perhaps he needs reminded that the reign of the vultures and vampires is over and for good.
There can’t be any reasonable basis for comparison between the focused leadership Barr Caleb Mutfwang is giving the citizens of Plateau. If anything at all, being of the wig profession, Gov Mutfwang needs not reminded at all, about the hallowed place and respect for the judiciary, in this government. It is instead, an exercise in futility for an unrepentant and uncultured hoodlum like Dati to be the one pontificating on the sanctity of the judiciary.

Barr Mutfwang amply and substantially demonstrated the highest respect and regards to the judiciary. That Barr Mutfwang’s coming on was deliberately structured and characterised by massive killings by the usual terrorists, that have held the state under siege for over two decades, is no gainsaying.
What was new at this point in time, was the use of Mangu LGA as the battle field. Of course the reason here may not be far fetched. To his credit, Governor Mutfwang was not overwhelmed at all. Instead, he did what successive governments lacked the vision, çharisma and foresight to do. He visited all the Service Chiefs, Intelligence agencies, Police high command, etc, where he convincingly presented his security architecture, for his state. In fact he started the advocacy at the very top with the most respected Number One citizen of the country. In all, the response was excellent and, today the state is the better for it. We may not be out of the woods, but certainly, we have gone miles away from where we took off. For the very first time the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), is supplying relief materials to Plateau state.
That Dati is pissed off with the quality of leadership that Caleb Mutfwang’s government is privinding to the entire citizens of Plateau State is his personal business and cannot do anything about it.
The man at the helms of affairs in the Villa, is a leader with a discerning spirit. He knows integrity when he sees one. Governor Mutfwang is a man of integrity who fear God and has remained focus in building bridges of unity across faiths in the state.
Definitely, light and darkness are not one and the same. It’s in this wise that we frown at Dati’s display of chilling beastialies, in advocating that the list of beneficiaries of the assistance rendered victims of terrorist attacks in the state reflect religious character of the state.
A man in the league of Dati whose value to governments he has served, has remained his capacity to handle the dirty jobs, would see every kobo as funds for looting, at every turn. One would have thought that in order to demonstrate his love for all religious education persuasions of the state, Dati should have first insisted that the killings by terrorists should not be at all. It is most disgusting and unfortunate that a man who has held offices of responsibility could remain much in the mold of a dunce.
Talking about performance, it needs no over stressing the point that in the past six months Caleb Mutfwang has risen the bar of governance in the state. Road maintenance in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis has never been this good and excellent. Today road users drive in pleasure and comfort. One other aspect of good governance is restoration and keeping of hope alive. The apparent hopelessness of the past is gone.
In conclusion, with Barr Caleb Mutfwang at the head, Plateau state is in safe hands, set to take off.
