Reaching The World With The Word : My Number One Goal For My Guinness World Record Attempt—–Rev. Emmanuel Olorunmaba

Our Reporter

The president of Total Liberation Mission, Rev Emmanuel Olorunmagba, who had proposed 60 hours marathon sermon, covering the book of Genesis to Revelation, to break the Guinness World Record; has said that his ultimate goal for the Guinness World Record attempt is mainly to take advantage of such opportunity to reach a wider audience with the living word of God in an attempt to ensure many lives are touched.

He started his address by quoting “Apostle Paul who categorically and fundamentally asserted as follows in the book of 1 Corinthians 9:19-23:

’19. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

20. And unto the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

21. To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

22. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

23. And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.’

‘And he (Apostle Paul) further added in the book of 1 Corinthians 11:1

‘Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.'”

He thus explained that “in total obedience to the Bible, specifically the verses quoted above, (though not limited to these scriptural quotations, but the entire Bible), I have resolved amongst other things to always take advantage of any opportunity to reach out with the Living Word of God, seizing any moment to present the message of salvation, hope, deliverance, healing, encouragement, reproof and rebuke; with the aim that as many people as possible will be touched.”

The cleric reasserted that seizing the opportunity of the moment to spread the word of God, targeting a very large audience remains his number one goal. He therefore called on “those whose aim is also to ensure the word of God is brought to people at all costs”, to partner with him in this move and disappoint their religious dogmatism (if they are still held bound by religion).

As he said he had received different kinds of attacks from those he referred to as religious folks, since he first made his intentions known. Adding that he is still envisaging more attacks from them since they assume that “preaching the word of God or reaching out with the Gospel must be in strict adherence to their hold-tight religious fundamentalism.”

Alluding to Jesus Christ whom he stressed that he (Jesus) did not find it easy with the religious folks of His days as He was so criticized, attacked, persecuted and even brutally murdered for His system of reaching out to people, which was not in total agreement with the religious dogmatic and fundamentalists of that era.

“He (my Lord Jesus) was called a glutton, a drunk and friend of tax collectors. He was seen as always going against even the religious beliefs of the Jews. Yet they claimed to be seeds of Abraham. But Jesus reminded them that if truly they were seeds of Abraham they would do the work of Abraham and not seek to kill Him.

“Just like many religious folks, including but not limited to, even Pastors and other Servants of God that are supposed to have better understanding. Rather they have been lending themselves to the devil as an instrument of attacks to attempt to kill this vision of reaching out to a wider audience through taking advantage of Guinness World Record (GWR).”

Citing another example of Jesus Christ who sharply rebuked Satan that used Peter when he (Peter) released himself to the devil, he used the words of Jesus to all those who have become instruments of attack in the hand of the devil, trying to discourage him over this noble assignment, quoting from the book of Matthew 16:23 ‘…Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.’

Concluding he again quoted from the book of Philippians 1:18 as follows:

‘But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this, I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice.’

Adding that “even if those religious dogmatic folks still continue to erroneously assume that it is not good to take advantage of a good opportunity like this to reach more people with the Gospel (the word of God),” then just obey the scripture quoted

“In line with the Bible as quoted above, even if some Christians still continue to assume that my proposal to use the Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt as an opportunity to reach out with the word of God is from false motive, as far as it is the word of our God that I will reach out with, the reaction of a true child of God should be to rejoice and ‘continue to rejoice.'”

Olorunmagba expressed gratitude to all those present at the Press Conference, and all who are supporting already, including those who still promised to support.

Ex-NBA President

Decries Invasion And Capture Of Judiciary By Politicians.

Ex-NBA President Olumide Akpata

A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, has raised the alarm over what he described as deliberate attempts among the political class to capture the judiciary in the country.

The erudite lawyer said the trend was yielding result for the political class, stressing that during his tenure as head of the bar what he saw in NBA’s committees was frightening.

“Forgive us for fixating on this problem because the IBA as the global legal voice has a role to play in what I call Judiciary capture.

“I find out that there is a deliberate attempt by the political class to capture the judiciary and it has serious consequences for the rule of law in Nigeria.

“It is deliberate and it is intentional and it is achieving result for them.

“As the President of the bar, I sat on NBA committees and what I saw there was bizarre,” Akpata said.

Speaking further, the former NBA chairman stated that the process of appointments of Judges in Nigeria was ridiculous, noting that it would be difficult for a good Judge to emerge.

He supported recent comments by Chidi Odinkalu, former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, who recently complained about lopsided appointments of Judges and other corruption acts in the Nigerian judiciary.

He complained about the poor remuneration of Judges and appealed to IBA to help speak out about the situation to salvage the judiciary in Nigeria.

According to him, “What Chidi Odinkalu pointed out is very clear, it is a major problem, that we are confronted with in Nigeria.

“Nigeria is the largest black nation on earth and what happens in Nigeria has implications world over.

“A good Judge would only emerge through that process by luck. The way Judiciary appointments is done in Nigeria is ridiculous.

“I hope the IBA would ascertain if what I say is correct and lend its voice.

“Firstly, the process of appointments of judges.

“Secondly, the impoverishment of Judges in Nigeria, remuneration.

“I don’t want to tell you what they earn, meanwhile they are still considered as members of the upper echelon of the society.

“Their kids want to go to Cambridge, Harvard, but they can’t afford it, but i want to assure you that their kids are in Oxford, your guess is good as mine; how did those kids get their?

The former NBA President’s comments came amid recent revelations by retired Supreme Court Justice, Musa Dattijo, about the corruption in the judiciary and absolute power of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Dattijo had said a number of respected senior members of the bar, who cited the cases of Ahmed Lawan, the former President of the Senate and the Imo Governorship appeals, claimed that decisions of even the apex court had become unpredictable.

Hon. Gyang Zi Petitions SSS ,NBC Over Salihu, Jay FM Impersonation Report .

By, giwa alex, Jos

The Labour Party, LP, Plateau North Senatorial District candidate in the 2023 general elections, and a so candidate in the forth coming re-run election  ordered by the Appellate Court, Barrister Gyang Zhi, has petitioned the State  Security Service (SSS), Nigeria Broadcasting Cooperation(NBC), through  his counsels petitioned the State Security Service, SSS, and Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation, NBC, against Abdullahi Salihu Adam and Jay FM 101.9 over circulation and aiding in circulating  report against him.

As  he said the circulation of the false report against  him is tantamount to character assassination  of his person which  has painted and projected him in bad light before the right thinking people in the state, by extension Nigeria  as  a whole as politician and legal practitioner.

The petition to the relevant Security body in the state by Hon Zi is dated 15th November, 2023, signed by R.T. Yilwatda ESQ, Zi lawyer, and addressed to the Director, State Security Service, Plateau State Command and made available to THE BEACON Newspaper in Jos.

He complained that since the Court of Appeal’s ruling on Plateau North Senatorial District election in which it ordered for a re-run, Abdullahi Salihu Adam, keeps circulating false information on media that he is LP’s candidate and not Gyang Zi whose name was on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s, INEC’s register in the 2023 general elections and has challenged the Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP’s candidate, Simon Mwadkon who emerged victorious at the polls at the tribunal and Court of Appeal. Yilwatda qualified Salihu’s acts as mischievous with the aim of misleading the public.

According to him, it is in the public domain that their client, Barrister Gyang Zhi, was declared 2nd with the highest votes by INEC in the February 25, 2023 general elections as LP Plateau North Senatorial District, and not Abdullahi Salihu Adam. And that their client approached the tribunal and Appellate Court, but Salihu kept telling the public that it’s his name on the INEC portal just to mislead the public.

The essence of the petition as stated by Zhi’s Counsel was to draw the attention of the SSS over the conduct of Salihu, saying it’s capable of breaching peace in the state as party faithful and supporters are becoming agitated.

In the said letter, the Counsel attached documents depicting: Salihu’s withdrawal from the LP Senatorial contest dated 7/7/2022; certified copy of Senatorial primary conducted by INEC; affidavit of affirmation of withdrawal from the contest by Salihu dated 17th October, 2022; Interim Order of the Federal High Court Jos Division in suit No. FHC /J/CS/77/2022 dated 6th September, 2022 directing INEC to upload Zhi’s name on INEC portal; judgment of the Federal High Court Jos Division in Suit No.

FHC/J/CS/77/2022 delivered on the 3rd December directing INEC to upload Zhi’s names on INEC Portal; Judgment of the Court of Appeal delivered on 22nd October, 2023 directing INEC  to conduct a re-run election; copy of the 2023 result of the general elections for Plateau North Senatorial District with Zhi’s name with 2nd highest votes and updated list of candidates for 2023 general elections.

In the same vein but different approach, Mathias O. Adeyemi, Esq, for Chesslaw Consult serving as counsel to Gyang Zhi, petitioned NBC against Jay FM (Jodaj Global Communications) and the presenter of its programme “Nigeria at Sunset”, Ponsak Fanap for aiding Abdullahi Salihu Adam in misleading the public of being the legitimate LP candidate for the Senatorial re-run. The Counsel said, “The anchor/presenter of the program Ponsak Fanap, asked guided questions to falsely

establish that it is the name of the said Abdullahi Salihu Adam that is on the INEC portal and not our client’s name; worse still, the anchor/presenter of the “Nigeria at Sunset” went to the extent of falsely claiming he personally opened INEC portal and saw the name of the said Abdullahi Salihu Adam in the INEC portal and not our client’s name just to mislead the public knowing fully well information he gave is false.”

The Counsel further said, “The above media house is notoriously known for disseminating contents unethically and overheating the polity. We recalled that the same media house was sanctioned by this commission (NBC) sometime back and they were also invited by the Jos Zonal office of the commission in November, 2022 before the 2023 General Election in connection with unethical practice in certain programmes they presented and the same Ponsak Fanap was among the invitees.”

According to him, the essence of the petition is to draw the attention of NBC to the unethical practice/conduct of Jay FM and to urge it to take urgent steps in addressing the situation and apply the necessary sanctions.

In his backup defence and prove of the authenticity of his client, Gyang Zhi, Mathias presented the same documents mentioned above in the case of the petition to SSS by Yilwatda.

By, giwa alex,Jos

The  frequent litigation of court cases against the All Progressives Congress ,(APC), Plateau  State chapter can be  described as “One Week,One Trouble” as  aggrieved members of the party over the kangaroo Congresses that hand picked the illegal Chairman of the party in the state Hon. Rufus Bature has  again revisit the State High Court to reactivate their suit challenging the illegal Congress election that brought Rufus Bature as Chairman .

As the  aggrieved members of the party feit the reasons which necessitated their withdrawal of the suit from court following the stakeholders of the party’s agreement was renegade as they  were abandoned because they feel they have money and deal with us.

Hon.Nanman Maimagani Zhattau ,Hon.Garba Pankwal and others aggrieved  members made this disclosure to the newsmen over the weekend in Jos, plateau state capital.

Hon. Maimagani was speaks on behalf of the aggrieved members of the party, said they have tried to maintained unity in the party which informed us withdrawing our suit from court in the first instance, and to respect the stakeholders of the party to pave way for out  of court settlement.

Regretted that since the withdrawal of the suit from court, we were abandoned, even the stakeholders of the party that revealed on us to withdraw the suit were nowhere to be found, while the illegal Chairman, Rufus Bature and his Illegal Excos parade themselves with impunity, so we are left with no option than to revisit court as laws  abiding citizens to reactivate our suit.

Further stressed that as aggrieved members of the party, our relief sort is simple, that the party APC plateau state chapter never conduct Congresses because we bought forms for various positions, so if there was Congress, there is no how we wouldn’t know.

That Rufus Bature parading himself as the party chairman ,who did not even buy a nomination form is illegal, imposter, fraudster and above all, that the party , APC in the state is without Exco, any activity or activities presided over by Hon.Rufus Bature is non and void of no effect in the eyes of the law ,as you cannot build something on nothing and it cannot stand.

In a similar development,Chairmanship Sole Candidate ,Hon.Ishaya Itse has debunked that no High Court in Nigeria  sacked him in Plateau State as the authentic chairman APC in the state, warned political detractors to deceased from cheap blackmail and characters assassination  .

Itse stated this while responding to sponsored publication in some National Dailies accredited to Rufus Bature as the Plateau State Chairman .

The Embattled Chairmanship candidate reiterated that they alleged striking out the case which is blunt lies coming from their reports ,the court of appeal had granted all prayers sought so why are they crying more than the bereaved .

However ,those that purchased forms to contest congress were,Hon .Ishaya Itse  ,Hon.Nanman Maimagani Zhattau ,Hon.Garba Pankwal including others for state chapter which venue was scheduled to hold at Crest Hotel ,Old Airport Road  .

They restated that the reasons why they are reactivating the case  against APC Excob is  for jettisoning out of court settlement agreement reached before Justice Gang as condition for withdrawal  of the suit which they renegades.

Its was gathered that  when the aggrieved members dragged the APC before Hon.S.P. Gang they were advice for out of court settlement with conditions attached Deputy National Secretary ,North-Central Deputy Youth leader ,five special advisers ,13 LGs liaising offers and settlement of their legal fees .

He explained that Honourably Justice ,S.P. Gang in his judgment ordered  internal settlement that positions should be share amongst those that obtained forms to contest the chairmanship seat in Plateau State .

According to him ,the Hon .Rufus Bature flaunted the earlier agreement reached to settle the matter amicably outside the court which ,we agree to wards ,LGs and state that was jettisoned completely .

Kanu Agabi (SAN) Demystify Nomination, Sponsorship Of APC Against PDP At Appeal Court Tribunal

Our Reporter

As APC in plateau state continue to brandish it sword of nomination  and sponsorship that has hitherto send many PDP candidates to casualty ward without knowing it next victims, the legal luminary, Chief kanu Agabi seem to have come to the rescue of PDP at governorship Appeal tribunal sitting in Abuja the nation capital as he raised  vital Points yesterday 11th November 2023 at the Governorship Appeal  tribunal  sitting in Abuja.

Among  the points include he said the case is not about Nomination and Sponsorship but you centered your points and Arguments  about the Validity of the Nomination and sponsorship of the PDP Candidates. Infact in the said petition the words Nominations and Sponsorships Appears 23 times. Even the said disobedience to court order, no matter how you explain it, it will still fall on nomination and sponsorship. Even in there witness statements and defense, they still made references to nomination and Sponsorships. This are evidences before the appeal Court.

He further said the Court order was obeyed sometimes back in 2021, evidences and facts were presented before the trial Court, and the repeated Congress and not been Challenged in any court of competent Jurisdiction till yesterday and up till today by any member of the PDP who contested that repeated Congress. Or better still, are APC helping us to challenge the State Congress of PDP?

Stressed this concluding remark, chief Kanu Agabi asked a vital question and he said where is the appeal court finding the powers to nullify elections on the grounds of  qualification, Nominations and sponsorships? In other words, even if they presume that PDP is in disobedience to court orders, they don’t even have the powers to do that. The law is very clear about the powers vested on the election petitions tribunal and even the Appeal, the issue of nominations, sponsorships and qualifications and not in there Scope of work.
