The Nigeria Police, Plateau State Command has cracked down and arrested a kingpin who specialized in kidnapping children and contact their parents for ransom in Jos , plateau state capital.
As the police also arrested other criminals in various parts of the state for different crimes raging from alleged armed robbery , Criminal Conspiracy , Extortion and Kidnapping.
The Commissioner of police Plateau State Command, CP Bartholomew Onyeka revealed this while parading the suspects before journalists held at the Command Headquarters within the week in jos.
The Police boss said the personnel acting on impeccable information from reliable informant one Ashiru Ibrahim age 22 years old resident in Angwan Rogo suburbs in Jos North LG of the state suspected to have kidnapped a Four year old boy in Zam Zam Abuja of Rikkos, Abubarkar Sadiq Nazifi also in Jos North LG on the 19th December,2022, was arrested by ‘A’Divison of the Command at Leichester Hotel in trying to collect 3 Million naira from the victim parents.
CP Bartholomew said upon interrogation,the suspect made a useful disclosure that eventually led to the the rescue of the victim from the kidnapper’s den , luckily he was unhurt.
He add that further investigation led to the arrest of his accomplice, Bashir Saleh who also resident in Rikkos and initiated the kidnap.
Also paraded by the police are those who were in involved in criminal conspiracy and extortion and kidnapping.
He said on the 24th December,2022,a case of kidnapping was reported at the Anti-Kidnapping unit of the command, that some unidentified gunmen invaded his brother’s resident at Gidan Dabat in Qua’anx Pan LG of plateau state and kidnapped the wife ,Talatu Dayil Ayuba and Dangnan Danladi both female and demanded for 2 Million naira ransom.
The police swung into action and arrested those suspected in connection with the kidnap,not fewer than Eight Persons where arrested , interrogated and confessed to have conspired to perpetrate the crime and collect the sum of Two Million naira.
The other ,are those who specialized in stealing of Trycles popularly know as Keke NAPEP and Bajaj motorcycle and the sum of 47,000 naira and Twenty measures maize was recovered from them.
CP Bartholomew Onyeka Said Yuletide always come with the challenges of astronomical increase of crime rates, therefore enjoined the peace loving people of the state to make their security a priority by avoiding night hour journeys and isolated routes.
He added that the command has put all the necessary security in place to ensure a hitch-free Yuletide celebration period and beyond.
He however called on the citizens of the state to trust the police with timeIy information to continue nipping crimes in the bud.
The CP appreciated the Media for their zeal and tireless reportage of exposing the antics of criminals, and the efforts the command is making to reduce crimes and criminality in the state to barest minimum.

As the group described the Man of God a mischief maker over his comment ” against Traditional ruler, HRH the Emir of Wase, Alhaji Sambo Haruna, President Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Plateau State Chapter.
The stated this yesterday 22nd December,2022 during while addressing a Press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Secretariat in Jos.
Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad called on security Agencies to instigate the activities of El-Buba who they alleged was a notorious Maitasine member before his conversation to Christianity.
“In his desperation for recognition beyond the cave he operates, he went wild on a goose chase that may soon attract him a legal battle despite his day dream of being a prophet, although, he may be a prophet of doom in his own right”.
El-Buba said in the referred video that went viral: “I sent a text message to a particular governor day before yesterday, and he asked me a question on why are you not supporting this candidate. I said I give you a reason on why I am not supporting because the one that is the brain I thought he will repent and change and that’s why I gave room for all these period but the key sponsor of the killer men, the key sponsor of Miyetti Allah, the key sponsor of these killer men that are slaughtering our people in the villages, is this man (pointing at the inserted photo of Kashim Shettima, APC Vice-presidential candidate).
There are things I won’t say here where the meetings took place, himself and one of the Emirs in this state, Wase………….”
According to the group,
“From the quoted statement of El-Buba, Plateau State and indeed the respected religion of Christianity, are no doubt heading steadily to another quagmire of extricating themselves from the maniac stranglehold of some demented self-appointed preachers and their sundry co-travelers determined to turn the state into another mine field in which blood must flow to water their insatiable quest to position themselves for undue recognition and for pecuniary gain, albeit irresponsibly.
“If there is any doubt that these elements would retrace their self destruct mission to ignite an upheaval that would consume the entire state to satisfy their debilitating deranged longing selfish interest, the unwarranted provocative and mischievous comments that went viral on the social media from Isa El-Buba, and the accompanied provocative but cowardly presented public statement targeted at the credibility of His Royal Highness, The Emir of Wase, His Excellency Kashim Shettima (APC Vice Presidential Candidate) and a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria that he cowardly refused to mention his name, would have put those doubts to rest.’

They said Isa El-Buba, allegedly, “a disciple of Muhammadu Marwa Maitatsine and the harbinger of evil would have realized the folly of his past and refrain from it for the good and development of our dear Plateau State now piloted by an Apostle of Peace and a respected technocrat, His Excellency Simon Bako Lalong Esq.”
“We are mistaken as rather than see reason and take the path of honour by putting a stop to his childish and dangerous hallucinations which he perfected in the past for pecuniary interest at variance with the teachings of Christianity; the self-ordained prophet with shallow understanding of what the respected religion of Christianity entails, having lost it all and having watched his usual dreams going up in flames took his infamy to a very ridiculous level when he maliciously accused the Emir of Wase, His Excellency Kashim Shettima and a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria of yet another rotten garbage of no substance other than his devilish imagination that gives him sleepless nights if peace is not breached.
” In the said uncouth statement of claimed preaching, the same lowly character went haywire with a tinge of insomnia and desperation in his one-man riot squad to further malign those respected personalities ostensibly for recognition. Is it not unthinkable that a claimed Ordained Man of God and Preacher in Christian Theology would operate and exist the way ‘Prophet Isa El-Buba does? Of course we are not surprise that the devil incarnate could without shame lay his kind of mischief in supposedly The House of God or best, his extortion centre. What else should we expect from a spineless religious bigot, jobber who, who cried to the heavens without let about an imaginary offence against those respected personalities, dished out all manner of lies he could manufacture in order to rope his targets in, but ended up not impressing anybody other than like-minds? He was unable to get even a whimper of a response or even an acknowledgement from any of those security institutions, including the state government which he may have continuously inundated with his tissues of lies, blackmail and witch hunt geared to smear the good relation that exist between the people of Plateau State of various religious affiliations and those respected personalities he targeted to ridicule.”
He said Isa El-Buba should be reminded of the fact that before his arrival on the Plateau for asylum, there has been Christianity in the hands of committed Christians of respect.
” There was no misunderstanding or disrespect between Muslims, Christians and believers of traditional religion until the surfacing of his type on the Plateau.
“In the whole of his worthless and baseless insinuations, there is no single place where he exposed himself as a coward, dullard and brainless as on the issue of claiming that he could not voice out certain things.
“As a committed and sincere priest as he claims, what stopped him from vomiting all the garbage he stomached to serve as a launching pad for security operation?”/

There is no doubt that at a time like this, Nigerians usually witness the sprouting of religious nonentities, opportunists and criminally-minded demagogues walking the streets with daggers in hand on the lookout for reputations to chop off, for pecuniary interest of course.
“The intention of this Press Conference is not to join issues with a lowly rated devil garbed in the attire of a priest for fear of equalization but to strengthen the records for posterity. We are not requesting for any apology to those he targeted or retrieval of the statement in question but prove to facilitate further action against those who are breaching the peace and slaughtering El-Buba’s people in the villages.
“His failure is an encouragement to seek redress in the relevant court of law.
In this case, ignorance seems to be more deadly than scientifically identified deadly diseases.
“To the serial mischief maker and allegedly a disciple of slain Muhammadu Marwa Maitatsine, we make bold to let him know that we are equal to the task to causing his repentance to the path of honour. Government and Wase traditional council have their own ways of checkmating his excesses while we also have ours.
“We have tolerated enough of the insanity from Isa El-Buba that originated from a curse and we shall not fold our arms to watch a rabble rouser threatening the peace of Plateau State for a selfish interest under the cover of a respected religion. “
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali has charged graduands of the Basic Drivers Course 1 /2022 to practice their driving skills to improve their capacity towards professional discharge of their roles as drivers of the personnel, saying, training and retraining of troops is the most significant aspect of a professional military Operation.
The GOC stated this at the graduation ceremony of Drivers Basic Course 1/2022 held at Headquarters 3 Division Auditorium Jos.

General Ali noted that the challenges of managing scarce resources which are quite enormous in the face of other competing demands has necessitated the training of the soldiers.
Speaking further, the GOC noted that it was necessary to equip troops with the skills to effectively operate equipment. He said the best welfare he can give his troops is training, adding that training is significant to achieving professionalism in the Army.
According to the GOC/Commander OPSH, the Drivers Basic course was necessary to ensure the safety of troops during operations. He charged the graduands to improve what they learnt during the course to perfect their skills in the field.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 73 Supply and Transport Brigade, Brigadier General Solomon Er revealed that the Basic Drivers Course 1/2022 had 26 students including Nigerian Air Force personnel and a Corps member. He said the graduands were extensively taken on practicals of driving long distance, driving both day and night and were given thorough understanding of driving procedures in all weather conditions and terrains as well as a good knowledge on the daily maintenance and care of vehicles
He congratulated the graduands and encouraged them to be good ambassadors of the Supply and Transport Training School.
The event featured presentation of certificates to the graduands and a group photograph.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali has charged senior military officers to justify the confidence reposed on them by the chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff. General Ali handed down the charge while decorating senior military officers serving under 3 Division Nigerian Army and Operation SAFE HAVEN with their new badge of ranks in Jos.
He noted that, the promotion of the senior officers was as a result of the confidence reposed on them to redouble their efforts in defence of the country. He charged them to remain resolute and more committed to their duties as there will be no room for mistakes. He further urged the officers not to disappoint the military leadership and their families but to keep the flag of the military flying.
The GOC/Commander OPSH also admonished the senior officers to adequately prepare for their retirement days. He noted that days are fast passing and the only remedy to a successful life after retirement is to plan adequately.
Appreciating the spouses of military officers, the GOC 3 Division/Commander OPSH said their prayers is key to the success of their husbands in the field. The promotion he averred was a result of family prayers answered.
In their words of encouragement, the Division Training Officer, Brig Gen S Adamu, Chief of Staff 3 Division, Brig Gen DD Kurmi and the Commander 73 Supply and Transport Brigade, Brig Gen St ER as well as the Commissioner of Police, Plateau state, Mr Bartholomew Onyeka, urged the promoted officers to be cautious while taking decision, always be ahead of adversaries and have good relationship with the creator.

The Plateau State legislative arm of government had strongly frowned at the move from some quarters to scrutinized it budget for every fiscal year.
As the legislative arm of government in the state said the 1999 constitution is very explicit in that direction and those advocating towards that direction is trying to be mischievous, better still trying to ignite fire on inflatable substance.
The House member is in reaction to statement made by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry of Budgeting and Economic Planning during the ministry budget defence for transparency and accountability,the legislature should availed it budget for every fiscal year be allowed to be captured.
This the office of budgeting said it would give room for easy compilation of figures on how much they spend and something like that.
The member representing Kanke in plateau state House of Assembly , Hon.Wallok Philip Goma in an interview with journalists during the defence of 2023 budget by the state Ministries and MDA’s held at the States House of Assembly reacted to the proposal of the ministry of Budgeting and Economic Planning seeking for the scrutiny of the legislatures budgets.
Philip Goma who doubled as the chairman committee for finance said the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria is very clear about the matter which spelt out the roles that are expected from the three arm of government.
He further said no body is saying that legislature should not be hold accountable for their actions and inaction as it responsibilities is with the people, whatever the House of Assembly is doing for the people, especially for the people of plateau state.
He added that the legislative arm of government is the most criticize arm compared to other arms of Government .
Goma said the house activities are open ,we are very accessable because we represent the people ,seat, deliberate and put things Into consideration as we are making our budget in the House of Assembly,so we have that responsibility.
He further said when it come to the implementation of the budget,we also take part in the implementation , follow up to ensure that the budget is being executed ,but we as the legislative arm of the state House of Assembly, we do not go ahead to say we want to take part in the execution of the budget .
He further add that at the stage of preparing the budget ,the executive need to carry the legislatures along , you don’t just prepare the budget without involving the the law makers and at the end ,you want them to accept your budget proposals.
Hon.Wallok Philip Goma urged the public to erase it from their subconscious mind that the legislature are having selfish motives that is why they don’t availed the public to scrutinized their Annual Budget for transparency and accountability.
“We are not saying that there is something hidden about it,our budget is very open,we are only frowning at a situation where the House of Assembly is being given directives, rather celling just approve what is pushed to the House of Assembly without any prior discussion.”
The position of the lawmakers is that if you want us to have any discussion we are very open , but in the earliest stage,not somewhere in the middle of the budget, because before defending the budget , there already a celling that positioned by the ministries.
He said the legislature are also open to public scrutiny and audit , people talk about the entitlement of the lawmakers without recourse to talk about Ministries , Government appointees and others just to buttress the fact that the public are scrutinising us the legislatures.
The Long Kwo of Kwo Chiefdom in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, HRH Miskoom Fidelis Longtoe Attahiru I, has called on all sons and daughters of Kwo to pray for the land as they celebrate this year’s Christmas.

The Leadership of Plateau Southern and Central Zone Forum (PLASCOF) has disassociated itself from holding meeting with a Governorship candidate last Friday at Crest hotel, in Jos.
This was desclosed by the Forum chairman, Mr.Panshak Verengkat John, in an exclusive interview in Jos.
“It has been to our notice that some illegal persons, claiming to be the leaders of the Forum, have last week Friday at about 2:00pm, at Crest hotel, held a political meeting with a governorship (Nentawe Yiwatda-APC), candidate of particular party in Plateau State,” he said.
According to Mr. Panshak, the Forum has stablised since the last desclaimer, on the person parading himself as the chairman (Rev. Jurbe), telling people that he wasn’t the chairman of the Forum.
“…but just last week we were told that he led some people, to meet with some politician at Crest hotel, parading himself as the chairman of the Forum.
“Now the Southern and Central Zone Forum, has disassociated itself from that group that held a meeting, at Crest hotel. And the Southern zone people are even not at that meeting.
“So if the people think they can divide the Forum because they are contesting, because of their ambition, I think we have other options and it is not only person that is contesting the governorship,” he said.
Mr. Panshak said the Forum will take the appropriate decisions at a time, when such decision is required.
“We will make decision and pronouncement, like we did in 2015 and 2019, respectively.
“Any person wanting to meet with us, should come through the right channel, he should come proper, because I remain the Chairman.
“Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, is the vice chairman, Clement Sati Mark, Secretary, Kutle Alexander Mark, Assistan Sec, Gambo Katzing, P.R.O, Emmanuel Sanda Amos, Financial Sec, Linda Ezekiel, Treasurer, Nimnan Zingshi, auditor, Augustine Azang, Legal Adviser, and, Ponsak Ibrahim Kadiri, Ex-Officio,” he said.

The new proposed system will enable the New Administration have form of direction , objectives if the advocated system which ends by July , means that they have began process of setting what they will inherit , they have reasons to continue with that budget that year .
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning Mr Lamba Peter Bot made the proposal during the state 2023 budget defence held at the state House of Assembly 20th December,2022.
Lamba Bot who is representing the Commissioner of the ministry, said the proposal for the Mid-year budget will provide the opportunity to have form of modifications , redirection of budget, that is why the emphasis on the first Six months of the year for this administration to complete the on-going projects.
The Permanent Secretary further said looking at the budget, you discover there are high probation for the on-going projects like the fly-over construction and others sustential funds.At the end of this administration,they should have achieved something greatly.
He said the Mid-year budget will also help the administration to have kick start for the commencement of their policies in the last Seven year which is a great time.
Alamba stressed that June to December , will give Ministries the ample opportunity which will harmonise their policies and projects.
On the strategies to raise revenue is very simple,we discovered that plateau state has not being harnessing their funds from partners like Kaduna,Nasarawa ,Bauchi and host of others. In Lagos where 60 percent of their funding is contribution from partners, Plateau is not even having 10 percent.
We are going to contribute our part.
Our ministry have high provision where the counterpart funding will make it possible to draw from partners .
He added that partners also directed to specific projects .
On his part, the Heads of Civil Service in the state Sunday Hyat lamented the recent soar relationship with the civil service in the state and the state government following the in ability of the government to pay salary owning the civil service due to global mete down.
Sunday Hyat who is the current Head of Civil Service in the state stated this in a chart with journalists during 2023 budget defence said is not the intention of Simon Bako Lalong led government in the state to refuse paying the civil servants for no reason.
Hyat said it is very unfortunate that Lalong led administration in the state is at the center of the whole face-off.
He said the financial crisis that affect the state is global issues not peculiar to plateau alone.
But said the whole crisis has been put to rest,the government and the civil servants in the state has come to an understanding on the modalities the government is going pay the months owning the Union without recourse to face-off ,but understanding between the parties.
He stressed that the state is having mathematical error with the Federal allocation committee which has not been resolved has affects the payment of salary in the MDAs.
He however commended the defence committee for their understanding and accommodating “where they felt will are not meeting up ,they asked us to step up. They demanded for some documents that we suppose to have made available to the committee, they politely asked us to make them available tomorrow which shows their level of politeness.
Hyat said like other MDAs the major challenges facing the Head of Service under review, is funding as their Over Head for 2022 have not been released as at time of this defence due largely to lack of funds, hope 2023 will be better.
The Ministries who defended their budget on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th 2022, include , Health, transport, Land and Survey, Micro finance Plateau State internal revenue, and host of others.

The Taraba state house of Assembly Speaker Professor Joseph Aibasu Kunini has resigned his position as Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly.
Professor Joseph Aibasu’s resignation is contained in a letter dated 21st December, 2022 and made available to gnews reporter signed by the speaker.
The letter with the caption “Letter of resignation ” the speaker said his resignation as the speaker of the state house of Assembly is for personal reasons.
However thank his supporters for believing in him throughout the period he held sway as speaker, and colleagues in the house for believing in him.
Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has congratulated Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Sir Joseph Ari on his 62nd birthday.
Governor Lalong in a goodwill message said Sir Joseph Ari is an accomplished professional whose impact has been felt in the Nigerian media space as well as in administration and corporate governance over the years.
He said the celebrant has been consistent in his drive for excellence, service and patriotism in all the various assignments he has handled at both State and federal levels.
The Governor commended Sir Joseph Ari for his efforts in turning around the ITF by ensuring that it carries put its core mandate of training requisite manpower needed for Nigeria’s development.
This he said has given many youths, women and men skills that have led to the creation of jobs, poverty eradication and emergence of entrepreneurs that are making impact in various sectors.
Lalong also described Joseph Ari as a reliable supporter of the Rescue Administration who has added value and used his office to support the human capital development agenda of the Government through strategic partnership as well as actively participating in political activities.
Governor Lalong while wishing Sir Joseph Ari more years of good health, God’s protection and divine wisdom, urged him to continue to carry out his philanthropic and charity works as well as his commitment to religious obligations that he is well known for as a Knight of the Catholic Church.
He also advised him to continue to mentor more youths in the act of service, resilience and excellence.
Lucy Jeremiah who was intercepted and adopted by gunmen suspected to be Kidnappers has demostrated real bravery as woman when she engaged her kidnappers in fierce fight as she was being led to t
their den, miraculously freed herself with the order captors before the police came to their rescue.
Lucy was injured on the leg during the scuffles that arises during the incident why the other person’s kidnapped with Lucy where badly injured currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Jos, plateau state.
The Commissioner of police Plateau State command, CP Bartholomew Onyeka stated this during the briefing of journalists on the successes recorded by the command in fighting crime and criminality in the state and it environs,19th December,2022 ,held at the Command Headquarters in Jos, plateau state.
The Police boss represented by the Police Public Relation Officer DSP Alabo Alfred said on December 2022 at about 2030 hours, the Command receive a report, that unknown gunmen intercepted and adopted some travellers at corner Fulani near Science School kuru, K-vom while on transit from Abuja.
Oyenka said upon receipt of this report, the Command immediately spread dragnets across the State, In a bid to rescue the victims unhurt and apprehend the suspect, the commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, Bartholomew N. Onyeka,ordered all Police Divisional Headquarters under Area Commands to comb Forests within their areas of responsibility.
He further add that while acting on the order, the Divisional Police Officer Barkin-Ladi, CSP Yusuf Data on 16 December 2022 at about 0600 hours led a team of Police operatives to Kassa Forest where they came in contact with the kidnapped victims through credible information.
Worthy of note is that one of the victims, a female by name Lucy Jeremiah Tapnang displayed bravery by challenging her captors’ grips knowing that help was on the way.
That act of bravery led to their escape from the kidnappers den before they were rescued by the Police.
Lucy Jeremiah who was rescued with various degree of injuries was taken to the Police Clinic for treatment while the other victims one Ismail Suleiman male of Biu, Borno State and one Shuaibu Haruna male of Bombe State have responded well to treatment and have since been reunited with their families.
